ID:Pomerania
Teatr Brama Association is both a partner and initiator of the project ID:Pomerania,
implemented as part of the Interreg VIA programme from 2025 to 2027. Our partners
include the Municipality of Goleniów, the Culture House STRAZE, and the University
and Hanseatic City of Greifswald.
The project aims to foster cooperation in art and culture across German-Polish
Pomerania. It also seeks to strengthen the sense of identity and awareness of shared
cultural traditions by supporting social and cultural initiatives in West Pomerania and
the border regions of Vorpommern and Brandenburg.
The history and culture of Pomerania form a complex web, woven through centuries
of shifting borders. The project partners have observed a lack of a shared sense of
community and unique identity among the region?s inhabitants, as well as a
disconnection from tradition and history. On the Polish side, many residents were
displaced to foreign lands, while on the German side, cultural heritage was deeply
impacted by the experiences of the Second World War. Artists rarely draw upon
tradition, which is now being intercepted by radicalized groups and given negative
connotations. Since 1945, societies on both sides of the border have had to rebuild
their identities and symbolism almost from scratch.
Artists and cultural animators recognize the great potential of promoting our region as
a place rich in bottom-up cultural and social initiatives, carried out in the spirit of
democracy. The project team will create a social media platform to highlight key
cultural and artistic initiatives while bringing the region’s history closer to the public.
Pomerania has the opportunity to become a hub for innovative, intercultural activities
that positively impact everyday life in our community. Additionally, with its history of
diverse nationalities and well-developed infrastructure, Pomerania remains a meeting
point and crossroads for different cultures.
The project consists of four main elements:
ID:Pomerania Lab – 12 meetings and panel discussions on the culture and
traditions of the region.
ID:Pomerania Process – 3 cycles of local cultural processes;
ID:Pomerania Event – 18 curated events in the form of open events for the public;
ID:Pomerania Festival – 3 open festivals;
Projekt ?Id:Pomerania” dofinansowany przez Unię Europejską ze środków Europejskiego Funduszu Rozwoju Regionalnego.
